SISASSS-SA is a non-profit organisation established in 2015 to implement projects that enhance access to clean, hygienic, and safe sanitation for South Africans.
Over time We have broadened our focus to address water, sanitation, and hygiene needs. Our programmes work to support the South African Government (SAG) in achieving Sustainable Development Goal 6, which aims to ensure that all people have access to clean water and sanitation.
To achieve this, we have undertaken various initiatives, such as renovating and building toilets in schools, public spaces, and households, as well as sourcing and donating reusable feminine hygiene products to girls in schools. Our ultimate goal is to become a leading voice in the water, sanitation, and hygiene sector in South Africa, working alongside the SAG and other stakeholders to improve the lives of all South Africans.
Our approach is to find the most cost-effective solutions to meet the needs of those who lack access to hygiene, sanitation, and water services.
We work with the government and communities to provide sustainable water, hygiene, and sanitation solutions.
Although we work in various environments, most of our work has been at schools.
Sulabh International is recognised for achieving success in the field of cost-effective sanitation solutions, social upliftment, prevention of environmental pollution, and development of non-conventional sources of energy in India. These best-practice models and technologies are the building blocks for the establishment of SISASSS-SA and the team that makes it all happen.
